Commercial and Residential Wiring

There are different types of electricians. Linemen (outsiders), also known as electrical line electricians, usually work outdoors, laying electric utility line transmission and distribution networks at higher voltage levels. They are equipped with tools and know-how to handle high voltage in the residential, industrial, and commercial areas. These electricians have to take safety precautions because they may be exposed to dangerous gases, chemicals, and equipment.

Residential electricians work on residential homes and business premises. The jobs they do range from installing lighting controls to doing wiring. Since they are not as skilled as industrial electricians, residential electricians are not generally permitted to perform complex jobs. Their job scope is relatively limited, as most residential customers require only a few features.

Commercial electricians work for industrial companies and government institutions. Most companies need them to do wiring for large buildings like office complexes. They perform tasks such as laying down the power cable and installing wiring. Some commercial electricians work for government institutions, mainly for large offices.

Industrial electricians A career as an industrial electrician requires both a college diploma and certain specialized training. The requirements vary depending on the type of job. Most often, an industrial electrician has to acquire at least a diploma in high school. Most state and federal agencies require that commercial electricians have at least a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: electricity, mechanical engineering, electronics, or electrical engineering. Besides those general skills, most industrial electricians also have to complete specialized courses that prepare them for specific jobs.

There are several different types of education, a commercial electrician might need. An individual who wants to become one needs to get a degree from a vocational school or trade school. This helps build a person’s knowledge of both electricity and different types of mechanical engineering. After the training is complete, they usually attend trade school to become certified. Some master electricians work towards becoming professional licensed electricians.

Government electricians There are electricians that work for the government. Some government electricians complete their schooling in high school, while others begin their careers as EIT students. The government often uses electricians to help maintain the electrical systems of hospitals, fire houses, and schools. Becoming an electrician in the government can be very rewarding because of the opportunities to obtain various government contracts.

Industrial electricians In the construction industry, there are electricians that specialize in certain aspects of commercial building electrical systems. Most construction projects require the use of complex electrical systems, so commercial electricians are needed. There are several different kinds of construction projects that require commercial electricians. They include building and grounds lighting, plumbing, drainage, ventilation, heating and air conditioning, and electrical wiring. It is very common for construction companies to hire commercial electricians because they have experience working with large buildings and structures. Many construction companies also rely on industrial electricians to help them maintain and repair their industrial electrical systems.

Residential wiring Commercial businesses sometimes hire residential wiring electricians to perform some specific tasks related to residential wiring. Some people might not like the idea of having an electrician doing residential wiring, but there are a number of benefits. Electroplating, which is done by residential wiring electricians, can help protect the wires from wear and tear. They might also be helpful in making sure that all of the wires are properly connected, and that none of the wires are corroded. If you are looking into hiring an electrician to do any kind of residential wiring, you should make sure that you have some basic information regarding that particular kind of wiring.
